Planking on the NYC Subway

Labor Day Break, Halfway Mark & Let’s Chat!

Hey everyone!

I hope everyone is or has enjoyed the holiday weekend. It is a beautiful one out here in New York City, and I hope across the country, as most people take a break from labor this Monday, every one of you got a chance to enjoy some fun in the sun, as well. My highlight of the weekend? Planking on an old subway car at the New York Transit Museum (see photo above!).

Labor Day Break
If you haven’t been able to figure it out already, First Dates took the week off from releasing an episode today. We planned this from the jump, as we assumed our fans would rather get out of the house than be stuck in it staring at a computer screen on their day off. So as not to hold you back, we’ll be taking this Monday off and bringing you Episode #1.06 next Monday, September 14th.

The Halfway Mark
Speaking of Episode #1.06, the first season of First Dates is only slated to be 10 episodes, which means with the debut of Episode #1.05 (“Martin“) last week, we are currently at the halfway mark for Season #1. That is cause for celebration on the cast and crew side, and hopefully that brings a tear to the eyes of you all, the fans, as it means you only have 5 episodes left in the season! But don’t fret! The last 5 episodes are pretty damn good (IMO), starting with next week’s episode as Sam (SPOILER ALERT!!!) goes on a group date that includes Elaine.

For those of you who don’t know, First Dates, while awesomely cool and independent, is just the first of several series being launched by BlackOakTV. Thus, we currently have two other series in the works, both of which we think fans of First Dates are going to enjoy.

However, we are a “Crew of the People,” and we want to make sure that our fans tastes are reflected in our work. So if you know of any other creators out there, or if you’re interested in becoming a web series creator yourself, send us a direct message via our Black Oak TV Instagram account expressing interest in chatting, and we’ll get in touch with you to talk about an idea you might have for a series!

Other than that, enjoy the rest of your long weekend, and we look forward to hearing from you!
